Easy replacement
Very happy the replacement cap is available. They do wear out eventually. Three seasons for the first and 2.5 for the second. If it wears out 2 times a year, stop dragging it over concrete or asphalt.

Several caps are needed
I enjoyed my Ryobi weed eater but there are two issues I have a gripe about. One the spool does not release the cord easily or at all. Two, the spool cap, not the toughest part and will be replaced several times a year. I have to manually open the spool to release the line and then closed it back up at least 20x on my yard.

I’m glad Home Depot carry’s parts for the weed eaters. I’m only like 3 minutes away from Home Depot and the spool cap was cheap

Very poor quality
On one hand, I am glad they sell this replacement part and it is relatively inexpensive. On the other hand having to buy 2 or 3 a year is ridiculous. I will never buy another Ryobi weed eater.
